The Malaga Festival is organised by Malaga City Council through the municipal company Malaga Procultura. Since its birth in 1998, the Festival has contributed to the development of Spanish cinema by presenting its best feature films, documentaries, short films, etc. It pays tribute to different personalities of the film industry and organises cycles, exhibitions, and parallel activities. This 27th edition will take place from the 1st to the 10th of March 2024 and will once again be attended by a large number of representatives from the national and international audiovisual sector. They will also participate in its industry MAFIZ, the heart of business and exchange at the highest level.

The Mayor of Malaga, Francisco de la Torre, signed this new agreement by the Festival, which joins another important sponsor, and highlighted the significance of public-private collaboration for the implementation of cultural projects of national and international reference, such as the Malaga Festival.

Simone Gorini, CEO and general manager of iryo, highlighted that 'it is a real privilege to take another step in our commitment to culture and art and support the Malaga Festival, an event of national and international reference that spreads and promotes Spanish cinema and binds the entire industry. Promoting Malaga as a cinema city, bringing its personalities on board and supporting our rich cinematographic heritage is an honour for iryo, which actively supports our destinations and their socio-economic development'.

iryo began operations on the 25th of November 2022 and connects the cities of Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Tarragona, Cuenca, Valencia, Alicante, Albacete, Córdoba, Seville, and Malaga. The operator aims to revolutionise the mobility sector, attracting more and more passengers to the train to make progress in the decarbonisation of transportation. It has the most sustainable, safest and fastest fleet in Europe, made up of 20 trains, and has designed a proposal based on personalisation, sustainability, and innovation that is unique in the Spanish railway market.
