Juan Naharro immortalises the essence of the instant at Festival de Málaga with his photography exhibition '180 segundos'
Calle Larios hosts this exhibit of 80 snapshots that present a different view of famous faces of the film industry.

The 28th Festival de Málaga is showcasing the presentation of an exhibition by photographer Juan Naharro, who brings us '180 segundos' at Calle Larios, where it will be on display from today until Sunday 23 March. The presentation was attended by Regional Minister for Culture and Historical Heritage, Mariana Pineda, and Festival Director Juan Antonio Vigar, who toured the exhibit with the photographer.

"180 segundos (seconds) is the approximate time I had when taking these photos," Naharro comments on the name of his exhibition, in which he compares the making of each photograph to a boxing match. "The first round I would invest in the model’s initial reaction and at the time of the session there are three minutes in which we are two people exchanging glances and impressions, trying to capture the essence, make contact and find what gives me a boost", describes the artist about the faces and expressions in this collection, the proposal for which he received with "great enthusiasm and gratitude".

Born in Albacete, Juan Naharro has dedicated his life to photography since 1999 after discovering it by accident and redirecting his professional training in Madrid. There, his artistic self was born and he began to convey his work in the aesthetics and balance that he captures in his snapshots. After a background in different agencies and media, he has been working with the world's largest photo agency Getty Images since 2010. Since then, he has travelled to various festivals and competitions where he has specialised in capturing the essence of an instant in chaotic situations. "They are portrait photographs, in which I achieve a certain complicity with the people who pass through the set, where for me they tell a story behind their gaze, which, when it coincides with mine, produces a miracle", emphasises the photographer about his style, which is also reflected in this exhibition.

This collection of 80 images, both in colour and black and white, portrays the best-known faces from past editions of Festival de Málaga. ‘180 segundos’ is the artist’s first exhibition in Malaga. "Each person has their own time", Naharro stresses about taking in the photographs as a whole, which he hopes "will be enjoyed and a good time had by all".
