Festival de Málaga hosts the premiere of 'Dani Fernández. Todo cambia’, the portrait of a constantly evolving artist
The documentary directed by Charlie Arnaiz and Alberto Ortega traces the personal and musical career of Dani Fernández

This morning at the Cervantes Theatre, the Festival de Málaga hosted the screening of 'Dani Fernández. Todo cambia', a documentary directed by Charlie Arnaiz and Alberto Ortega that offers an intimate portrait of singer and composer Dani Fernández.

The bustling premiere was attended by the Councillor for Culture and Historical Heritage of Malaga City Council, Mariana Pineda; General Managing Coordinator of Malaga City Council, Manuel Jiménez; the 1st Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture, Presidency and Major Events of Fuengirola City Council, Rodrigo Romero Morales; Natalia Villoria, Director of Advertising, Sponsorship and Public Relations at Repsol; and Verónica Buelga, CMO at Repsol, producer of the documentary.

Over the course of 75 minutes, the film follows his artistic and personal journey, from his first steps in music to his rise as one of Spain's most acclaimed pop artists. The film includes previously unseen footage, close testimonies and an honest look at the artist's evolution, exploring both his moments of doubt and the energy that drives him to continue creating.

After the widely applauded screening, singer Dani Fernández, accompanied by the documentary directors, shared his impressions of the premiere at the Festival de Málaga with the audience in a colloquium chaired by journalist María Guerra. With an extensive background in documentary filmmaking with titles such as 'Raphaelismo', directors Charlie Arnaiz and Alberto Ortega are also the founders of Dadá Films, co-producers of the documentary. With 'Dani Fernández. Todo cambia´, they present a testimony about the transformation and growth of an artist who has connected with an entire generation through his music.

"This is who I am, my family, my people. I thank Charlie and Alberto for respecting my truth because my obsession was to show the reality of my life, I didn't want anything fake,"commented the visibly emotional singer.

Asked about the filming process, director Charlie Arnaiz revealed: "Dani was the one who challenged us. He invited us to be part of his professional family. It was nice to see that artists make mistakes and show their weaknesses”.

Alberto Ortega, co-director, dedicated words of thanks to the documentary's producer: "Repsol has been another travelling companion. A brave brand that is willing to do great projects like this one. It is exciting to be here at the Festival de Málaga watching this film by a brave artist who wants to show what is real".

At the end of the colloquium, Dani Fernández, in tears, reflected on his future: "I don't know what the next few years hold for me because I don't really know what makes me happy yet. I don't just want to be successful. I’m looking forward to being with my people, my family. I’m going to continue with this same dynamic, trying to be a good dad and a better person. Feet on the ground, just like normal people".
