The Malaga Film School presents its new productions as part of the festival
The students’ most recent works and new instalments of Hazte un akemarropa were screened

The Festival de Málaga hosted this Friday 13th March the Malaga Film School gala, an event held at the Albéniz Cinema that is now consolidated a showcase for the city's emerging talent within the festival The event allowed the productions made by the students over the last year to be shown on the big screen, bringing the public closer to the creative work carried out at the school.

The presentation was attended by Chema Galante, head of the Malaga Film School, and Rafa Chaves, manager and teacher. Chaves spoke of "the enormous pleasure of seeing this hall full again this year, when we are going to show you the work done last year and this year". He also took the opportunity to congratulate everyone for the good work they are doing.

For his part, Chema Galante pointed out that "the fact that we are a school means that we all learn from each other and we are going to see the result here today". He also reminded the students that "the aim was to make the best possible projects to be shown at festivals, and to serve as a letter of introduction".

During the session, the ECM Films productions from this year's course were screened, as well as short films from the school, which in recent months have been gaining recognition at international festivals. Among them was Churrería Maravillas, which will be present this year in the festival’s official competition.

The gala also included the screening of new pieces from Hazte un akemarropa, the webseries the team shot and edited during the first days of the festival, working against the clock to be able to show it this Friday.

The meeting, which was attended by Rafa Chaves and Chema Galante, heads of the school, served to publicise the work of the students and to name those who will be the next film professionals of our city.
