CaixaBank issues 650 prepaid cards to help the Festival de Málaga cover expenses for its guests
The Festival de Málaga is once again opting for this innovative card for its guests, a practice expected to expand to other festivals and cultural events nationwide

The bank issues the cards through MoneyToPay, the CaixaBank and Global Payments company that develops prepaid solutions for both individuals and businesses

CaixaBank, through MoneyToPay, the financial institution's prepaid solutions company and Global Payments, has issued 650 prepaid cards to help the Festival de Málaga cover expenses for its guests during their stay. These types of cards represent a significant development in how the festival can manage the payment of subsistence allowances for attendees and have become an innovative and flexible alternative to the methods used until now.

CaixaBank's regional director in Andalusia, Juan Ignacio Zafra, and the director of the Festival de Málaga, Juan Antonio Vigar, presented this innovative solution this morning at the CaixaBank Store Larios branch. First implemented last year as a national pioneer, it is expected to be extended to other festivals and cultural events.
Through this initiative, festival guests will receive a personalised letter with the CaixaBank card, allowing them to make payments at 24 participating restaurants, including iconic establishments such as Bodegas El Pimpi and the AC Málaga Palacio Hotel. These restaurants have designed a special menu for attendees, offering a unique gastronomic experience tailored to the festival's needs.

Digitising the subsistence allowance system reduces administrative processes, improves expense control, and contributes to more sustainable, transparent, and efficient management by the festival.

The initiative also reinforces the commitment of the Festival de Málaga and CaixaBank to the city by supporting local businesses and the hospitality sector. The collaboration with local restaurants boosts their activity during the days of peak cultural attendance and positions Málaga as a leader in innovation applied to the management of large events.

MoneyToPay, a leader in prepaid services
MoneyToPay is the entity through which CaixaBank and Global Payments lead the prepaid services market in Spain. The joint venture, 49% owned by CaixaBank and 51% by Global Payments, develops innovative prepaid solutions for both individuals, distributed through the bank's branch network and points of sale in various sectors, and for businesses.
